Over
a span of five decades, thousands of people in states across the
country have danced, bounced, skated, worked and played on highly
specialized floors made of premium quality hardwood and other
materials produced and installed by Floor Systems Inc.
A floor from Floor Systems is a piece of “working art,”
beautifying its setting while providing high-tech performance
features to allow balls to bounce better, dancers to dance longer,
or skaters to glide gracefully.
The
Fort Wayne, Indiana family-owned company is a leader in the design,
installation and maintenance of highly specialized floors used for
basketball courts, roller skating rinks, athletic arenas, gyms, and
other high-use, high-traffic facilities that require specialized
wood or synthetic floors for maximum performance, enjoyment and
durability.
Hundreds
of floors from coast to coast have been installed and meticulously
maintained by Floor Systems Inc. And it all started with one special
floor created 50 years ago when two carpenters from Fort Wayne
teamed up to install their first floor.
Joseph Wall and Jim Wall, father and son, installed a curved
maple floor in Jim’s new roller skating rink.
That floor is still one of the most beautiful skating floors
in existence.
Since
installing that first floor in the 1950s, the Wall family has grown
the business based on a tradition of reliability, using premium
materials, and servicing their product with unsurpassed integrity.

As
father and son installed other floors as part of Wall’s
Skating Supply Service, the next generation started learning
the trade. As Kim Wall grew up, he often accompanied his
father and grandfather on floor installations, learning the
skills of trade and the standards that define excellence.
Kim’s
apprenticeship offered him the opportunity to begin his own
business, Floor Systems Inc. Thanks to his apprenticeship and
the values it instilled, Floor Systems quickly became a leader
in new-floor installations and floor refinishing and
recoating.
Today,
Kim Wall continues the tradition started so many years ago by
his father and grandfather. The company designs floors for
specific uses: For example, the company installs a softer
floor for basketball courts to absorb shock for athletes. The
company can customize floors to provide a wide range of
solutions. For example, the company installs dual-purpose
floors that are soft in middle, suitable for a
basketball court, and stronger on the outside for seats
and spectators.
The
family owned tradition continues, with emphasis on personal
service and quality. Indeed, customers are treated like one of
the family. Why
not trust your floor to family craftsmen who know and love the
business. Let us
meet your flooring challenge.
